We received an email just before the 2011 WNFR requesting an autograph sheet for Mr. Cooper’s young fan, Landon, who suffered two concussions as a young bullrider and is no longer able to compete in roughstock events. He’s picked up a rope and is confident he wants to be a team roper. Along with an autograph sheet, we sent Landon a personalized message from Mr. Cooper on how to make your dreams seem just a little bit closer.
Landon’s dad sent us a message back after receiving his package for Christmas and said,
“To see the expressions on Landon’s face and his Granny getting as excited watching his excitement, was very special..Thank you, very much…and thank you Mr. Cooper !!”
There’s no doubt in this business it is all about paying it forward. If Landon continues to work hard at his roping, there’s a great chance he’ll be in a similar position as Mr. Cooper some day, and can give encouraging words of advice to the next generation of exceptional team ropers.
